HOT FACE HOT FACE Let's do it Idiot Wind Hello, hello, hello Welcome to Idiot Wind, the panel show podcast Made by Idiots for Idiots So that's the audience and the panelists roundly insulted We are joined by Four brilliant idiots Who are sat around the table With microphones, cheesy whatsits and peanuts To my right is Steve Keyworth Hello Steve, how are you man? Hello, I am well Are you excited to be on series 3 of Idiot Wind? I am, I've been waiting outside your house Until we could start I didn't really want to do a series 3 But I just wanted you to go home What's been going on since we last saw you? Anything much? I've been painting a house, mostly Your house? And there's different colours Yeah, yeah, mine I might start on someone else's Because I don't think I can stop now What colour have you settled on? We've got alpaca mittens in one room I mean, that's just fucking ridiculous And this morning I'm painting some kind of blue colour You see, you being a very dexterous, witty chap I would imagine that that was a made up paint name But I bet it isn't I bet there's a paint name called alpaca fucking mittens Yeah, yeah Some stranger recommended it to us in B&Q And we're easily influenced Because we've been there for four days Do you do everything that strangers tell you to? I'm doing it now, yeah Yeah, it seemed to work with the mittens Okay, so now I'm smuggling cocaine to France Yeah, yeah, yeah And joining you is the delightful Charlie Hello Hello, Charlie Why have I forgotten your fucking surname? Gardner I knew that, I knew that And joining you is the delightful Charlie Gardner Hello Hi, Charlie, how are you? I'm well, thank you, how are you? I'm very good Did you win debut? Debut Lovely to have you here Thank you Any thoughts? Many, but I don't know how many of them I could publish How many, if you could like put a number, ballpark On the number of thoughts that you've currently got in your head 27 That's quite a lot Yeah, I think so Alright, nice, we'll maybe go through them later on And facing you are two other people That's the best way I can describe them Hello, Robbie Sunderland Hello How are you? I'm very well Looking nonchalant You're always looking nonchalant That's my thing That's what you do And joining you is Mr Rob Page Hello, Rob Hello How are you? I'm okay, yeah It's a Sunday afternoon It is a Sunday Or is it a Sunday? I guess this goes out online So it's any time at any Right Any place Yeah, right So It might be a Sunday afternoon It could be a Sunday Yeah, it could be a Sunday afternoon You've got a one in 14 Yeah, one in 14 Chance of being a Sunday afternoon I've been practising my Yahtzee game Oh, I fucking love Yahtzee I've been getting skilled at Yahtzee The right throw To get the fifth dice to really behave Do you think there's actually a technique in throwing the dice? No Have you got special dice? I've loaded them, yeah I always thought that dice came down to luck Yahtzee's a fucking amazing game though I love it Yeah, but since I've loaded the dice I can't fill the top section I would like you to come up with team names on the spot Because Matthew has got space on his bit of paper for the team names And so if you don't have one, just make one up Steve and Charlie, what are you called? We randomly decided we were going to be called Gardner's Question Time Which fits in really well with Charlie's second name Which we've all just discovered Not yours at all I mean, I haven't just discovered it I've known it for a while Oh yeah, fair enough You could have called it Gardner's Keyword Time Yeah, but I didn't read that on a book behind you Okay So Gardner's Question Time versus Well, we're Rob and Robbie Yeah So, Noodle Pips Noodle Pips Noodle Pips Okay, those are our two teams We're set for an epic quiz battle I think we should get on with it I think we should start with round one Here it is Sort it out Yes, round one is called Sort It Out I'm going to give a conundrum to our teams And they are going to try and name the stuff that is on the list That's on the bit of paper that's in the Matthew's hand And he is going to award points accordingly Oh right, here it is First question of the quiz According to the Magnet Street website What are the top ten secrets to a happy marriage? And we will start over here with the Gardner's Question Time team Oh, well, the most important thing is You must never tell your partner your top ten secrets Yeah Because they're secret Yeah, they're secret If they find them out, the whole thing's over So are you allowed to reveal them on a podcast? You know, I am Spartacus I killed a man in Reno Just to see him die I don't like painting houses I mean, you are married I am, yeah Charlie, you're not married, are you? I'm not, no No, but you have insight You know people that are married Not many What have you observed? I think the secret of a happy marriage Is never proposing That seems to be what I'm noticing From my friends Are now steadily starting to get married Yeah So what you're basically saying is The key to a happy marriage is not to get married Yeah Yep, I'm with you on that Yep I fully endorse that position Steve, you've been married for how many years? I want to say something like 11 and a half 11 and a half So, unbalanced decision or do you regret it? Yeah, it's been good It's been good It's, yeah Can I have an 11 and a half points for actually being the person who Matthew? No, no Is this still the comedy podcast? Are we working through some family issues and stuff? Yeah, I think I could fill a whole spin-off podcast about the secrets of Yeah, yeah You answered very quickly and you said your marriage has been good Universally, have it been any bad marriage? Has it just been water, water Another tip for a happy marriage is just never to let your partner listen to any comedy podcast Yeah You do, that's important Yeah Good, alright, lovely And we'll come back to you two in a second Over here, Nibbly, what's it? What have you, what thoughts have you got on marriage? Either of you two married? No No Ever been married? No No Think you'll get married? No Oh, I shouldn't imagine so Okay, so given that, what do you think makes for a successful marriage? One person having total control over all the decisions so as to minimise factionalism Okay Much like Stalinist Russia Eliminate all the counter-revolutionaries so that there's only ever one pillar of power without question Therefore everyone's happy because you're either in charge unhappy or not allowed to be unhappy Right, very sort of political, militaristic approach you're taking to matters of the heart here It's good to take lessons from history Yeah, you've got to learn the lessons from history, otherwise you might repeat them Would you be keen to be the person with the power? Yeah It feels like too much power for one person So that really puts me in the other camp, I guess We've learnt a lot in this five minutes More than the other two series put together about the panellists This is not what I signed up for and I'm very scared now Yeah, I've advocated Stalinism and my own submission to the state I think you started, you think you ended up arguing with your own point that you made in the first part of the question Arguably I strengthened it All hail the state Robbie, any thoughts that you'd like to add? Yeah, sleep with the mother or father-in-law early to reduce tension Mother or father-in-law interchangeable in this scenario? Yeah, whichever you want That's good, anything else? Any other tips? No, that's the one That's literally it I think I read somewhere that somebody said get a hobby So that you don't murder your spouse Could a hobby be having sex with your father-in-law? Yes Or being an international assassin? Yes Or, you know, Pilates? Or both? Yeah, being minister of the interior Yeah Is that another creepy way of saying sleep with the mother-in-law? Yes Okay, let's go over to Matthew and see if there's any points scored there Now, I'm quite amazed by this, but yes, there are There are points for Steve saying, he didn't say this, but forgive easily So saying, don't listen to comedy podcasts I think forgiving easily is probably just the equivalent on here There are points for Steve? Steve didn't say this Hang on, is this jazz points? Yeah It's about the points he didn't make Look I was doing a dance at the time which said that Oh, that's true Yeah, that's true Now, bearing in mind, Rob, that you're trying to dispel this point I've kept I've got keep the romance alive Because you were talking about communism And you seemed passionate about it So I thought that was a point there And also, when you're saying take complete control One of the things here is put the other first So if you're putting the other first And they're taking complete control That's technically a point There we go You see, now you're benefiting from jazz points And again, one for Robbie Because, okay, maybe sleeping with in-laws is not the exact wording on here But it does say give more than you take It's the wheel of things Yes, it's time for the wheel of things Now, those of you who have been listening to this series Will know that Matthew has had a bit of trouble with the wheel That we used to spin to find out what the round was going to be Matthew, what's the update on the wheel? Right, well, last time we left it had rolled down the hill I did find it again Good Using drones Excellent And the drones managed to lift the wheel And bring it to me Unfortunately, I was standing on top of the same hill And this time it rolled even further away So I still don't have it But I will find it again The drone ran out of battery So I couldn't use it straight away But I've still got the dice Okay, we'll keep looking for the wheel And get your little shaker out And roll the dice of things I'll keep it short What have we got? Poopy-doo Poopy-doo One person from each team will see how many words they can convey to their teammate By using that word in a sentence The only restriction is that they won't be able to use that word in a sentence They will replace that word with the term poopy-doo For example, if I was trying to describe sandwich I might say, I'm going to put some ham in my poopy-doo I can't wait to have a poopy-doo at lunchtime Charlie is about ready to poopy-doo Steve is going to guess Three, two, one, poopy-doo I have a Windsor knot in my poopy-doo Snake Nope Shoelace Nope Tie Yes I'm from the south, so I don't have my tea I have my poopy-doo Racist friend Yes, but no Not him You can do multiple sentences Oh, can I? You've made a dog's poopy-doo of that situation House A dog's dinner Yes The squirrel ran up the poopy-doo Tower of London Leg of William Rees-Mogg No Paper is made out of poopy-doo Flag Oh no, I was answering the last question Trees Yes When I'm sad and I like to think I'm in a music video I look out the poopy-doo The Battlements And time is up Lovely poopy-dooing Well done, Charlie Points have been scored there We now go to the other team See if you can out-poopy-doo the original poopy-dooers Robbie is poopy-dooing Robbie is going to guess Three, two, one Poopy-doo At Christmas My family overturned the poopy-doo In anger Oh, it's the family dog I like to buy properties on the poopy-doo Oh, the internet? Properties on the poopy-doo The market? Overturned the market at Christmas In loyalty to the glorious state Sorry There are places like Old Kent Road and Whitechapel On the poopy-doo Oh, at the Monopoly board Yes I put my poopy-doo on my head when I go to battle My hat? No, not quite Oh Nearly When I go into battle Flag on my head No Oh, helmets Helmets, yeah I had a problem with my pipes Time is up to the poopy-doo on my head when I go to the gardener's question time and I'm going to be joined by our guest question setter for this season And he's going to be joining us live from a port-a-louge somewhere in the Norfolk countryside Nicholas, are you there? Hello and welcome to another Sparrow's Eye View with your host, in part, Nicholas Sparrow Now, this week, I want to talk to you about something that I experienced last night I was watching one of those, many of those nature programs that was on and I was, just sometimes I sit there and I watch these creatures, you know, these creatures have worked and worked and worked, ancestors and generations have died before them so that they have perfectly evolved And I just sit there and I look at them and I just, sometimes I just get overwhelmed by how mother nature can make something so arrogant as that I mean, most animals really have got their nose in the air thinking that they are better than us I mean, take the monkey for instance, it is one of the top most arrogant animals within the UK today I mean, it's absolutely disgusting So what I want the team to discuss today, which animals do they believe are the most arrogant and how they would take them down a peg or two Okay, teams, what is the most arrogant animal and how would you take it down a peg or two? I think we'll start with Rob and Robbie A very obvious answer is the cat But I believe we're both fans of the cat Rob, I think, is one of the biggest cat fans I've ever met I, well, we were talking about earlier, subservience to the state The state is run by my cat He's on all the big posters outside the Ministry of Justice And yeah, he very much is in charge So to take him down would be factionalism, which would of course be improper conduct I would definitely go to a cat gulag if I discussed that in any public place Let alone mentioned it on a podcast Oh no I mean, I like cats, but I kind of feel like we should take them down now Do you know any of their weaknesses? Any weaknesses are immediately redacted So, unfortunately I don't know any of the weaknesses Arrogant animals, I would say like anything that can fly must be quite arrogant Like an eagle They do look arrogant The way they, that twitch that birds have It's quite an arrogant twitch, isn't it? All the way up there with their beaks Outrageous How would you take them down? Slingshot Slingshot? Yeah, there's several quite harsh ways to do that Route 1, slingshot, gun Scud I mean, do you think that's too much? Go big or go home Yeah, that's a very good point Write nasty messages in their nests Like what? Give us an example message Birds, go home We are home, this is my nest Yeah, get another one My great Just my great Migrate south and don't come back My great, more like my shit Yeah Alright, good, some lovely answers there We'll now go over to Gardner's question time Most arrogant animal, and how would you take it down? A peg, or two For sure, dolphins Dolphins? Yeah Dolphins, they're there, they jump And they're doing this thing Like, oh no, Predator's gonna get us Fuck you, killer whales We're so clever Do you know what I mean? Always on about that Yeah Doing a fraction machine They are up for themselves Do you know what I mean? Just bow riding Just going, huh, you've paid for this cruise And we're just gonna come along with you for the ride Lovely stuff Any other thoughts? Going with dolphins? Sheep Sheep? Yeah, sheep What have you got against sheep, Steve? They're just like, meh It's just No, they're like, meh Yeah They don't contribute They don't talk to us Do you like lamb? Charlie's wearing a lovely Do you like fleeces? Wool jumper I don't like jumpers either, actually I think we've got some good answers there Let's go back to Nicholas Sparrow And his portaloo And find out if any of you Got any bloody points And now for the answers The answers are Yes Whatever animal you said And however you want to take it down You do that The world would be a better place For it Okay, so I think everybody gets points there Matthew's scribbling away furiously with his scorekeeping pen Everybody gets points Which we know what that means, don't we? That's a net worthless waste of rounds It was a complete waste of time and energy And they're my favourite ones Yeah Alright, on we go to round five Yeah, round five is what the what the fuck We have bizarre news stories from various places and teams Just give us your thoughts on what the answer to these questions might be Okay, question one What did police find when they were called to an address by a neighbour Who'd heard shouts of let me out, let me out Do we buzz? No, don't need to buzz I think there was somebody in an else address getting the words wrong So spoken as the father of young children Yeah, yeah Singing the words wrong No, they know the words I know the words Our neighbours know the words Let it go Yeah You'll trigger him It's a good answer, it's not correct Any other thoughts? Karen Matthews getting her karmic justice Wow, yes I went there, sorry What did she do? She'd like hid her daughter in a bed In a drawer In a drawer beneath a bed or something So yeah, what would be the ultimate karmic justice? She was just in a drawer, I suppose Just in a drawer, no bed No bed No extra thing needed What's worse than being in a drawer under a bed? Being in a drawer that's not under a bed Yeah, fuck you Any other thoughts? Was it somebody who was just tied up Like a kind of like a gimp situation? A gimp-tuation, if you will Good old standard gimp situation Standard classic gimp situation No, as far as I know it wasn't a gimp situation Was it like the ultimate Brexiter? They're still, they're not out enough They want to be more out I want to be out of my own skin Just ripping it off in chunks Yeah, yeah Just grabbing a Frenchman Yeah Grabbing a Frenchman Yelling at him Let me out Let me out Is that a baguette? No, it's just a loaf All good answers None of them right Robbie, anything to add? Don't know why I'm singling you out Cheers A piece of toast in a toaster that was burning That's a good answer Screaming, let me out Yeah, it's close But it was in fact a parrot called Rambo The owner After the French poet Yeah Yes Jean le Rambo The owner had taught it To shout that When it was a kid As a joke And I think regretted it In later life What a hilarious person Yes When the adult When the human was a child Or when the bird was a child The owner had taught it as a joke When he was a kid It's uncertain I think What You do call I don't think you call Infant parrots kids Do you You probably call it Baby parrots Was it a parrot that had been a goat? Chink Yeah A parrot That's a very good point And had some kind of transition At some point Yeah He identified as a goat Yeah Yeah Goat identified as a parrot And just Good Alright Question two What unusual approach Do Gavin and Alice Munro From Worksworth Take to furniture production? They just buy it Like They don't even bother with DIY Because it's stupid Okay I mean Is that unusual? I think he's just working through some stuff Yeah Have you had a bad time with a flat pack? Why would you even bother? Like He's just taking Food Out of The mouths Of the children of builders More like Wike Your own furniture Yeah More like MFY I think They breed it They try and get like Chairs to mate And More like B and Y Sorry Yeah They breed furniture They try and make Pieces of furniture With other furniture Either that Or they use nuclear weapons And just try and create something Out of the You were sort of going towards it And then And then I'll go back to the first one Whoa You went They Well that doesn't make any sense Rather like breeding Do they just smash them together To see what comes out Yeah they use that large hadron collider Oh I've got a set chair It's not that It's not that It's a chest of bed No we've gone further away from it again They glue them together Is it taxidermy? Is it taxidermy? The cut and shunt No Charlie Any thoughts? I was going to say Is it made out of their toenails and resin? Oh my god I wish it was Is it right? It's not No No I mean you weren't You weren't really very close I was just trying to help I feel drunk Even though I'm not drunk or anything They grow it They harvest trees Which they train to grow into furniture shapes Train? Yeah That's an odd With a whistle and dog treats Do they treat it humanely? I mean are they whipping it? There's no carpentry needed So they're not like Soaring it They Coax it They coax it Into like chair shapes And things like that The couple have a furniture farm In Derbyshire Where they're nurturing 250 chairs 100 lamps And 50 tables They call it What do you think they call it? Furniture They call it Zen 3D printing Oh for God's sake I feel I should point out I'm pulling a face at this Yeah Yeah I think everybody is They probably sell them For about £1,000 a chair Don't they? They should call it something better What would you call it? Buy my furniture Or go fuck yourself Yes it's a good brand It's a strong message Get marketing all the way down To the bare alley I don't think their lamps Will work No Steve I don't think their fucking chairs Or tables will work either They use trees With glow worms in For the last Yeah yeah You've got to coax the glow worms Into the tree You've got to train them Yeah Alright good Matthew What happened there man? It was a blank to me Yeah nobody got any points No of course they fucking didn't We just learnt a bit And feel worse off for it Good That's life That's life That's what this quiz is all about We're not here to have fun Alright We are now going to One of my favourite places In the world It's time to visit Matthew Corner Look Up in the sky It's a bird It's a plane No It's that Matthew Matthew How's your lovely corner this week? This has nothing to do With trying to find a large wheel But we sent All four Of our lovely Players To a bridge over the river Wentham To see what they can Fish out However You've got to have Environmental concerns You don't want to just be Emptying the river of fish So they've been restricted To only catching and keeping Discarded human items Or junk So we'll go round the room And see what they've What they've got And we'll score it Based on our top secret criteria Okay Alright Who would like to go first? Matthew It's your game I'm going to shut up Steve Why don't you go first? Well he doesn't get any Well he gets one point But he also gets to take home All of the junk So congratulations What are you going to do With the dinosaur adventure park? I'm going to Put it on the roof of my car He gets all the junk It's got to be a fun car roof Are there other points in it? Is there a gap between the two teams That makes this whole thing exciting? I don't think that's going to make it exciting Let's be realistic But yes there is a gap Between the two teams Rather than just the physical space Between where they are sitting Yeah good Alright thanks for that man Alright it's time for the final round Questions Alright it's back on the buzzer teams It's a quick fire questions round To finish off Everything is to play for Question one How many Rubik's cubes Have been sold?
